  What is Hair Porosity (HP)? Hair Porosity is the ability to absorb and retain moisture in the hair. The porosity of your hair affects how well oils and moisture pass in and out of the cuticle layer in the hair.  Hair porosity is typically divided into three levels: low, medium, and high. Low Porosity: Cuticles that are close together Medium Porosity: Cuticles that are less tightly bound High Porosity: Cuticles that are more widely spaced By knowing your HP this helps you from drying out your hair, breakage, or over processing your hair.
